With its beautiful serene setting, this place is ideal for nature lovers. Wish we had discoverd this little gem earlier and spent a few more days.

Thank you for your gracious hospitability during our stay.We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of Periyar River Lodge and will miss the swing. The elephants and boating trip were real highlights.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. You were very kind to show me how to cook a few Kerala dishes, Luigi. I hope to teach my friends when I’m home. The short canoe trips were excellent. Wish we could have stayed Longer.

It is hard to believe, that from the months and weeks of concern for Emily and Faz’s wedding preparation to the intense fun and magnificence of their Delhi wedding and to then arrive here at Periyar River Lodge – actually our name for it is Paradise! The lodge has simple beauty and comfort and is set in exquisite surroundings and it feels we have come home! Amazing and what a journey. Apart from beautiful India,what makes Periyar river Lodge so so special are the staff. Luigi - you have such a gift of knowing what each of us needs and wants and giving in abundance. Eldhose – I thank you for the endless jobs you do for all of us and for keeping a wonderful eye when we use the boats. Lissy – the food has been absolutely scrumptious – a huge thank you.What a magic Trio you are, We hope to see you all again.

This has been the BEST couple of days ever. Thank you so much! We do not want to leave ! Thank you for all your kindness and hospitality. We loved our canoeing and boat trip, the food has been delicious and it has been wonderful getting to know you. You have made it such a special time for us- especially for Faz and Emily’s honeymoon, and Will and me, the honeymoon gatecrasher!!! Thank you for everything, we’ll be back as soon as possible!

Regrettably only a one night stay here at Periyar River Lodge. Everyone in the village were friendly and welcoming. P.R.L was perfect. Luigi and Eldhose couldn’t do enough for us and we all wish very much that we could have stayed longer. What a gem!!! Thank you so much. Regards

This is an extraordinary place where we discovered many animals and birds. We felt very special in your beautiful lodge. Thank you for taking care of us like you did, we felt more than welcome. The excellent cook made us discover wonderful recipes of Kerala. What else to say than it was a dream. Thank you.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from PRL but it surpassed my wishes. Beautiful, remote, great birding (Frogmouth) and of course very attentive hospitality from Luigi and Eldhose, AND first- rate cooking from Lissy. The thirteen hour taxi ride from Mysore was worth it. This is a fabulous place next to the river. Nature is great and I wish everybody will care for it.

We really had a great time at this peaceful place. We enjoyed swimming in the river, went to a rope pulling contest with 50 teams one night and had two wonderful boat rides. Not to forget the drumming practice at the school house. All the people in Kuttampuzha are very nice and helpful , but the best are Luigi and Eldhose. Both pampered us around the clock with delicious meals , fresh fruit and coffee or tea. 

We are a group of seven persons including three kids, had a very pleasant, comfortable stay here. Hospitality by Luigi and his team is excellent. Food with local flavours suited to our tastes and served fresh. The children were well engaged and are very reluctant to leave. This is a place we would come back to many times.....

The paradise does exist – Here we are! What a wonderful place – we feel better than at home – Luigi fulfils all our wishes – He is always at our disposal. He is a very interesting person to talk with. Meals cooked by Lissy and served by her husband are wonderful – we had the opportunity to taste the local fruit – they were really tasteful!!! The accommodation provides a really nice comfort and it’s charming! It would be a shame not to come back. Thank you for everything. We look forward to seeing you again - Congratulations to the staff.

We were fortunate to be able to stay at the Periyar River Lodge for two nights. The experience is transformational. The rooms are lovely with a view of the river. The Verandah overlooks the river and I personally, spent a lot of time on the swing – reading and just soaking up the beauty and tranquillity of the place. We had a remarkable boat tour, up and down the Periyar River and a fantastic bird watching trip – where we were able to spot 44 species of birds – thanks to our expert guide. The hospitality was out of this World. Mr.Luigi was the perfect host welcoming and kind, and like a genie – getting us everything we wanted like magic. He accompanied us everywhere, and served as a fantastic guide all the time. Thanks to him. We were able to identify many new birds in the area. The food was exceptional. Eldhose and Lissy fed us delicious food – and lots of food. I was very touched that they prepared a special payasom for me with wheat, coconut and molasses – because i am lactose intolerant. The stay was full of thoughtful events like this. It was a wonderful stay that we will always remember with great fondness.
